Though storms are unpleasant and it is hard to see any good out of them I have found these two verses in Job that caught my attention. God spoke to Job "out of the storm." It is often very difficult to hear Him speak because of the noise of the storm. We are so preoccupied with trying to calm the storm that we don't hear His voice. Often the voice is soft and gentle making it even harder to hear. I think that is the way He wants it. He wants to make sure we know it is Him and not just another voice of distraction coming from the storm.
Storms can come in various forms; fanancial problems, family issues, difficulties on the job. All are hard to handle and unwanted. But there is nothing more precious than to hear the voice of God. If it is His voice then He is giving you special attention. Maybe He is telling you what you need to do. It may be a word of comfort that is desperately needed. Whatever He has to say, it will be special.
Be careful how you may complain when the storm comes. Your complaining may drown out His voice and you may miss the blessing. Endure the storm. It will pass. The blessing will stay.
